| >How do I install/replace the battery? |
Installing or replacing the CR2 long-life Lithium battery in your XX Series disc-lock alarm is simple (for a short how-to video, click here):
Step 1: Remove the component lid
To remove the battery lid, locate the spring-loaded catch and slide forward to release the lid.
Step 2: Remove the alarm module
Find tab and remove alarm module from lock body, like this
Step 3: Install the battery
A single beep confirms installation. A second beep confirms that the alarm is armed. Shake the module to trigger the alarm. A series of five beeps will be followed by the alarm sounding for 15 seconds before it re-sets.
(WARNING! THE ALARM IS LOUD. The alarm will continue to trigger and sound until the module is back in the lock body and the lid is back in position. When installing/replacing the battery, find a place where loud noise will not be a problem. Ear protection is strongly recommended.)
Step 4: Replace the alarm module
Make sure the alarm module fits all the way in until it clicks.
Step 5: Replace the component lid
Position the lid on the lock body and use the lock tool to click it back in place.

| >How do I arm the alarm? |
When the lock is moved or struck, it will trigger by giving five beeps followed by the full 120dB alarm for a period of 15 seconds, after which it will reset. To see a short video showing how this works, click here.

| >How do I disarm the alarm? |
The same LED automatic arming sensor that tells the alarm to arm instantly tells the alarm to stop when it is removed from a brake disc. Removing the battery is the best way to avoid unnecessary battery drain when not in use or for storage.

| >Why does the module make that rattling sound? |
If you shake the alarm module, you’ll notice a rattling sound. NOTHING IS BROKEN. This is normal movement from a part contained in the motion sensor.

| >How do I know when it’s time to replace the batteries? |
The first and surest indicator of a low battery is a constant ticking noise emanating from the lock. As soon as you hear this, replace your batteries.
(Note: if you encounter an issue with your XX Series lock not covered here or in the XX Series disc-lock alarm instructions manual, DO NOT contact, or return the lock to, your retailer/dealer. Instead, email us at info@xenasecurity.com).
